It’s interesting in the right atmosphere or pressure applied -what things can come flying out of our mouths! And honestly I don’t think many notice on the daily as they are not being self aware. Becoming Self Aware is such an amazing process that can help to filter your tongue. If you are a child of God, you have direct access to the Holy Spirit living right inside of you, and if you submit to HIS word, it will help you to taste what you are speaking. How do your words taste?
One thing I was known for, was my potty tongue. I have the swiftest wit with a hint of extreme. Thankfully these days, the word vomit is less and less… 🙂
Proverbs 4:23-27 The Passion Translation (TPT)
23 So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life. 24 Avoid dishonest speech and pretentious words. Be free from using perverse words no matter what! 25 Set your gaze on the path before you. With fixed purpose, looking straight ahead, ignore life’s distractions.[b] 26 Watch where you’re going! Stick to the path of truth, and the road will be safe and smooth before you. 27 Don’t allow yourself to be sidetracked for even a moment or take the detour that leads to darkness.
Now that I know this truth I make a point to be intentional on what I download in my Spirit. I choose to put in worship, the word, teachings, inspiration, seek Spiritual mentorship etc., so what comes out will be an abundance of what I am pumping in. For the times I am weak and speak things I shouldn’t, HIS grace is there to pick me up! Not after perfection, just a clean heart. HIS grace is sufficient!

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you be self aware. HE is ready and able to transform your heart and help you to become the life speaking Child HE created you to be!
