Let His Hope Arise

Sometimes life, days, seasons or moments can seem overwhelming. Maybe chaotic, confusion and anxiety. Conflict even.

We need to REMEMBER the reason why we got this.

Why do we worship HIM? This has everything to do with keeping our eyes on HIM.

Cast your cares. Let go of burdens. Align your heart. Repent. BECAUSE OF HIM. HE is always the reason. When we keep our eyes on HIM, we got this. We can love. We can forgive. We can serve others.

The reason. That is HIM.

That is why we CAN walk on water. We can wether any storm. ALL situations.

Matthew 14:22-33

Jesus Walks on the Water

22 Immediately He directed the disciples to get into the boat and go ahead of Him to the other side [of the Sea of Galilee], while He sent the crowds away. 23 After He had dismissed the crowds, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. When it was evening, He was there alone. 24 But the boat [by this time] was already a [a]long distance from land, tossed and battered by the waves; for the wind was against them. 25 And in the fourth watch of the night (3:00-6:00 a.m.) Jesus came to them, walking on the sea. 26 When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out in fear. 27 But immediately He spoke to them, saying, “Take courage, it is I! Do not be afraid!”

28 Peter replied to Him, “Lord, if it is [really] You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 He said, “Come!” So Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw [the effects of] the wind, he was frightened, and he began to sink, and he cried out, “Lord, save me!” 31 Immediately Jesus extended His hand and caught him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you [b]doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. 33 Then those in the boat worshiped Him [with awe-inspired reverence], saying, “Truly You are the Son of God!”

Right before this part on the boat, the disciples had just seen Jesus feed the 5,000. They just witnessed a miracle, a BIG one! They were already aware of HIS supernatural abilities. They had already seen healings. HE had already called them out of their past, their pre JESUS lives. We all have these stories. Each one of us has experienced HIM in powerful life changing ways.

Here Peter was the only one on the boat who remembered and believed JESUS could give HIM the power to walk right on the waves of the storm. HE remembered who HIS Lord was and is! The other disciples had fear, they were afraid.

When Peter took HIS eyes off the King and looked at the waves- he gave them power and began to sink. SAME for us!!

Colossians 3:2-10

2 Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value]. 3 For you died [to this world], and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God.

Anxiety and Gratitude cannot take up space in your brain at the same time.

Give thanks. Worship. Remember the reason why we are here. It’s all about HIM. Always about HIM. Not about us. Keep your eyes where they belong. On HIS. When you have your eyes on HIM, the winds and the waves can’t touch you. They lose their power. And when your eyes are on HIM, you will love others like HE does.
